At CES 2026, Samsung made waves by revealing an array of innovative TVs, monitors, and other cutting-edge hardware. However, the company is also setting its sights on the gaming realm, introducing a major overhaul of its Gaming Hub tailored specifically for smartphones.

In an exclusive discussion with Engadget, Jong Woo, who is Samsung’s VP of Game Services, highlighted that this upgrade aims to deliver a more personalized and swifter gaming experience, focusing on highlighting emerging titles. This updated hub is currently available on Galaxy devices, with plans for further enhancements, positioning itself as a vibrant space for the latest mobile gaming experiences.

“We believe that gamers crave personalized content that caters to their interests,” Woo stated. He further elaborated, “Our goal is to ensure users can instantly access content and play without the usual delays associated with downloads. Our cloud streaming technology enables us to instantly deliver Android-native games directly to players, removing unnecessary friction.”

According to Samsung, the mobile Gaming Hub currently engages over 160 million users across various devices. Nonetheless, Woo pointed out a significant concern: “Despite the extensive selection of games available, mobile game discovery remains problematic.” This issue highlights the need for improved systems to help gamers find new and preferred titles more easily.

Initially, the Gaming Hub served as a supplementary tool for tracking purchased games. With the latest update, it now consolidates all games bought from Google Play and the Galaxy Store, creating a central hub for gamers to manage their collections, discover personalized recommendations, access cloud streaming for select titles, and watch highlight reels from popular gaming creators.

The overarching ambition of the revamped Samsung mobile Gaming Hub is to enhance and guide the mobile gaming experience, which has often been less satisfying compared to gaming platforms on PCs and consoles. “We’re incorporating extensive user feedback from focus and beta testing,” Woo shared. “This valuable input helps us address the specific pain points faced by mobile gamers and allows us to offer tailored recommendations.”

Another goal behind the Gaming Hub’s overhaul is to cultivate a community for mobile gamers, connecting players and developers alike. The platform is set to include more social features, enabling users to share YouTube videos and other content, thereby transforming mobile gaming from a solitary experience into a more interactive and connected environment.

“Game playing on mobile devices tends to feel quite isolated,” noted Woo. Currently, the newly enhanced Mobile Gaming Hub is exclusively accessible on Galaxy smartphones and tablets; users on other devices will continue utilizing the previous version.
